Art Under $100, Seattle Design Center, November 2019
I make each of my lamps from scratch, using a variety of papers from countries such as Nepal, Thailand, Japan and India. One of my favorites is Nepalese Lokta, an eco-friendly paper in gorgeous jewel tones. The cultivation of this “tree free” paper is an eco-friendly resource and a reliable revenue stream for the village artisans of Nepal’s rural and urban areas.
My frames are built from various sizes of oak doweling which gives the lamp strength. Other hardwoods may be requested at additional cost.
Table and accent lamps range from about 12” high to approximately 30”. Floor lamps vary in height and width.
Individual electrical components - socket, wire, switch and plug - are UL approved. Larger lamps use a standard Edison or E26 base. Smaller lamps use E12 candelabra sockets, which can be used with bulbs from a 4w nightlight bulb up to a 40w candelabra bulb.
Prices vary, based on size and design.
