HAND MADE, ONE-OF-A-KIND LAMPS

“The way to right wrongs is to turn the light of truth upon them.”

Ida B. Wells-Barnett, 1862 - 1931 American investigative journalist, educator and early leader in the civil rights movement.

THE LIGHT OF TRUTH

A collection of handmade, limited edition lamps, conceived with the intent to educate, illuminate and shine a light on history. And most importantly, as a means to generate donations to not-for-profit organizations who are working to fight back against systemic racism, and who are defending those who have been subjected to discrimination and abuse.

Each series of limited edition lamps will feature two prominent black lives, past and present, who have a specific connection to each other, with a quote from each, accented with gorgeous African textile prints.

Upcoming lamps will include trailblazers of all kinds; activists, civil rights leaders, scholars, politicians, artists, inventors, athletes, scientists and entrepreneurs.

Lamps are 8” high and 6” wide. A handmade 3/8” oak frame, wired with a UL approved candelabra socket, rated for a maximum of 40 watts. The lamps pictured above were photographed with a 15 watt bulb. Even a 4 - 7 watt night light bulb will produce a lovely glow.

Offered at $150*, FIFTY PERCENT of the retail price of each lamp will be donated to a non-profit organization that specifically supports black lives.
